Join us for a replenishing Brave Voice retreat in deep autumn, happening at beautiful private home in the Kansas City area on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Fall is a time of transformations, and this special one-day event is designed to bring participants ample opportunities to create new work, consider new approaches to writing or music already in process, and renew their vision and voice. Come write, sing, making new friends, enjoy luscious and healthy meals and snacks, and discover what you have to say or sing to yourself and the world.
10 a.m. — Welcome and introductions
10:15-11:15 a.m. — Writing From and For Our Lives with Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg
11:30-12:30 p.m — Singing and Songwriting From the Soul with Kelley Hunt
12:30-2 p.m — Lunch, lively discussion of what we’re called to create and explore in our life, and weather-permitting, a short neighborhood walk
2-3 p.m. — Writing From and For Our Lives with Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg
3:15-4:15 p.m — Singing and Songwriting from the Soul with Kelley Hunt
4:30-5 — Break and refreshments
5-5:45 p.m — Dinner and Show with Kelley and Caryn performing an original collaboration of music and poetry
6-7 p.m — Coffeehouse of Wonder with participants performing or reading their new work.
This retreat is limited to 18 people. The fee of $150 includes the retreat, a delicious lunch and dinner for the body and soul, refreshments through the day, and all handouts. We will be asking participants about any dietary restrictions and providing vegetarian and vegan options.
