Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg

Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg is the 2009-2013 Kansas Poet Laureate. She is a poet, writer, teacher, and writing facilitator with over 30 years behind the pen and 24 books published, including:

Her poetry and prose are published in over 100 journals, magazines and anthologies, and her songs co-written with Kelley Hunt have been performed around the world. Caryn has been quietly songwriting since she was a kid, and she dabbles in the cello.

Caryn consults with organizations and businesses and coaches individuals on coaching, writing, and right livelihood. She facilitates workshops on writing, callings and right livelihood, and other topics at conferences, retreat centers, community centers and gatherings. With storyteller Laura Packer, she co-leads Your Right Livelihood, a training in doing the work you love, and she teaches online facilitation classes with writer Joy Roulier Sawyer.

She also has a PhD in literature and has trained in group process facilitation, poetry therapy, and teaching yoga. She helped found the Transformative Language Arts Network, the Continental Bioregional Congress, and the Kansas Area Watershed Council. She has also worked as a community organizer, conference organizer, and journalist.
